Scarlett | Archive House Collection
Red evening dress in shiny taffeta silk with asymmetric skirt, black contrast details and dramatic neckline — an archive runway piece from the Petra Kocian show, now available for sale in the Archive House section. The power of red in its purest form.
The bodice is constructively shaped into a distinctive arranged neckline with a plastically pleated hem that frames the shoulders like a sculpture — the taffeta holds the shape and gives the upper part architectural strength. Around the waist is a narrow black belt with a free-flowing end that crosses the red like a calligraphic stroke and is the only, all the more striking, contrasting element. The asymmetrical skirt rises to reveal the leg at the front, flowing into an elegant train at the back — the transition between red taffeta and black lining at the hem creates a dramatic two-tone effect with every step. The taffeta fabric with a natural sheen changes the intensity of the red depending on the angle of the light, from dark crimson to brilliant ruby.
