The rigid strapless corset shapes the bust into a gently curved line and bears hand-stitched sequin ornaments in spiral and volute patterns all over the surface — shiny purple sequins on a deep purple background create depth and move with the light. The transition between the corset and the skirt is formed by a distinctive pointed V-shaped hem, which optically lengthens the torso. There is lacing on the back of the corset. A balloon mini skirt in iridescent fabric shifts between purple, blue and pink depending on the angle of the light — puffy balloon pleats add playful drama to the design and reference the haute couture aesthetic of the 1980s. The model combines structure with movement and seriousness with exaggeration.
