Delphine | Runway Collection | Rudolfinum Fashion Show 2015
Black dress made of silk velvet with an abstract pattern and a deep neckline on the back — a runway model designed for Petra Kocianová's 2015 fashion show at the prestigious Rudolfinum in Prague.
The close-fitting cut follows every line of the body from the shoulders to the gently flared hem at the ground of movement, adding natural drama. Long sleeves and a closed front appear restrained and elegant, until the model turns around: the back reveals a deep round neckline reaching to the lower back, which transforms restraint into daring sensuality. The entire surface of the dress is covered in silk velvet with a burnt abstract pattern — organic shapes reminiscent of branching or crackling lacquer alternate with translucent passages that elevate the play of light and shadow to a decorative element. The material changes shade depending on the viewing angle, from matte black to deep anthracite with a hint of brown.
This is the only archival collector's piece of Petra Kocianová's show collection.
