My goal was to create a design that would not draw attention to itself, but would sensitively complement the personality of Iva Janžurová. The dress was meant to emphasize the dignity of the occasion without ever overshadowing her presence. In my opinion, this is the true essence of couture – it does not exist for its own sake, but for the woman it is created for.

When I later watched the festival’s closing ceremony and saw Iva Janžurová receiving the President’s Award in my design in front of a full auditorium, I realized that some moments hold a special significance for a designer. They are not measured by the number of photographs or media appearances, but by the feeling that your work has become part of an important cultural event.

Looking back after the years that have passed, I remember this collaboration with great humility. It is one of the moments that remind me why I chose the path of original fashion design and bespoke couture – to create unique pieces for exceptional women and extraordinary occasions.

The jubilee 50th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival was special for me for another reason as well. Alongside Iva Janžurová, I also had the honor of dressing her daughter, Sabina Remundová, for whom I created a model for the film premiere of The Seven Ravens.

Meeting both women at the festival remains an unforgettable experience for me. Iva Janžurová and Sabina Remundová are not only exceptional actresses, but also very kind and inspiring women whom I deeply admire and respect. Being part of such an important event and creating designs for personalities of such distinction is one of the moments in my professional journey that will remain with me forever.
