My Story

I believe that true elegance does not come from trends, but from individuality. It is created through a quiet dialogue between a woman, a garment, and the moment for which it is created.

I am a Czech fashion designer, and for more than three decades I have dedicated myself to original couture creation. Throughout this journey, hundreds of unique designs have been created – from evening gowns and occasion wear to bridal couture. Each piece is designed with respect for craftsmanship, refined materials, and the woman who wears it.

For many years, I created my work in the historic centre of Prague, a city that naturally brings together people from all over the world. It was here that my designs found their way not only to Czech clients, but also to women from many countries who chose to take them with them as part of their own personal stories.

Throughout my professional journey, I have had the honour of dressing public figures as well as women searching for an exceptional piece for an important moment in their lives. Every commission, every encounter, and every creation has become part of the story of the brand – a story that has been written for more than three decades.

My work has never been about mass production. From the beginning, I chose a path of originality, personal approach, and timeless design. I believe that a beautifully created garment should not only be captivating today, but should remain meaningful for many years to come.

I find inspiration in architecture, art, nature, travel, and the culture of European cities. I am drawn to clean lines, harmonious proportions, and the lightness of materials that bring movement and emotion to a garment. The connection between contemporary design and timeless elegance is a defining element of my creative language.

In this new chapter of my work, I increasingly turn towards Mediterranean inspiration – its light, open spaces, natural elegance, and the art of appreciating the beauty of everyday moments. The blue tones of the sea, warm shades of the landscape, the softness of flowing fabrics, and the femininity of the Mediterranean lifestyle bring a new dimension to my creations.

For me, the Mediterranean is not only a place, but a way of perceiving beauty – through light, harmony, and natural elegance. This new source of inspiration naturally connects with the Czech tradition of precise craftsmanship, which remains the foundation of my work.

Today, the Petra Kocianová brand enters a new chapter. Alongside bespoke couture creations and made-to-measure designs, it opens its archive – a collection of original pieces created throughout the years, now ready to become part of new women’s stories. Each one is unique. Each one carries its own story.

I do not create fashion simply to make an impression for one evening. I create garments designed to endure – through their quality, craftsmanship, and the emotion they awaken in the woman who wears them.

Because true luxury is not a question of extravagance.
